247 Virginia Tech Announces Four-Star Recruits For 2019
Two-star runner Gunner Givens and three-star tight end Jordan Hall headline the 2019 recruiting class at 247 Virginia Tech. The Hokies have also landed three-star running back George Pettaway. Leon Bond is a junior at 247 virginia tech
The athleticism is there for anyone who watches Leon Bond play basketball. A rising senior from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Bond was previously ranked 39 nationally by 247 Sports and one of the top prospects in the Class of 2022 by ESPN. He has high upside and could end up becoming a “complete player” with a pro career. His ability to play multiple positions and his willingness to work hard on defense makes him an attractive prospect.
Gunner Givens is the highest-ranked 2022 Hokie recruit
According to multiple recruiting services, Givens is a four-star offensive lineman who has chosen Virginia Tech over Penn State, Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, and Ohio State. Givens’ recruitment process has spanned two years. Virginia Tech currently has 19 commits in its 2022 class, ranking 15th nationally and third among ACC schools. Givens joins four-star running back Ramon Brown as the top 2022 Hokie recruit. Givens has committed to Tech over the two-year-old school and has already begun to work out at Virginia Tech.
Jordan Hall is a three-star running back
Michigan State has landed three-star running back Jordan Hall, who is from Fredricksburg, Va., and the 6-foot-2, 225-pound native of Fredericksburg chose the Spartans over four other finalists. Hall is ranked No. 194 overall in the 2023 class by 247Sports.com, and he is ranked No. 14 among linebackers.
George Pettaway is a four-star running back
A four-star running back at 247 Virginia Technology, George Pettaway is a top college prospect. The Virginia Tech running back has over 25 scholarship offers. He worked out with two-star North Carolina Tarheels running back Tony Grimes in Virginia this summer. While the Tar Heels are favored to land Pettaway, UNC is one of his top options.
Alex Orji is a quarterback in the class of 2022
The Michigan Wolverines have added a highly touted high school quarterback to their recruiting class. Alex Orji, a 6-foot-2, 226-pound dual-threat quarterback from Arlington, Texas, verbally committed to the school on Dec. 15. He also has offers from Nebraska, Baylor, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Michigan already has two quarterback commits in the class of 2022: Jayden Denegal and Alex Orji.
Taulia Tagovailoa is a quarterback in the class of 2015
The younger brother of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Taulia is a rising sophomore quarterback from Kapolei High School in Hawaii. Both players have a high school GPA of 3.8 and have excellent athletic ability, but Tagovailoa surpassed expectations last weekend. Although she didn’t throw for more than 270 yards in the game, she still completed 14 of 15 passes and was named MVP of the Pinstripe Bowl.
Dwayne Lawson is the 10th
Dwayne Lawson is a four-star quarterback who originally committed to the Miami Hurricanes. But after the Virginia game, he reopened his recruitment. He is now committed to Illinois. Two47Sports ranks Lawson as the 26th best dual-threat quarterback. ESPN and 247 Sports Composite both rank Lawson as one of the top 50 recruits in Florida. Before he announced his commitment to Virginia Tech, he had verbally committed to Florida State, Ole Miss, and Miami.
