The Largest Cities in the US

If you are wondering what the largest cities in the US are, you’ve come to the right place. Here you’ll find out which cities are the biggest in the US and how many people live in them. The cities of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, and Pomona are among the largest in the US.

    New York City

New York City is one of the largest cities, covering a land area of about 778 square miles, and has a population of almost nine million. The city is the densest in population in the US and has one of the most diverse populations of any city. In fact, it is home to more billionaires than any other city in the world, and has the highest GDP of any US city.

    Long Beach

Long Beach, California is located in southern California and is home to California State University, Long Beach. The city is a hub for the aerospace, petroleum and shipping industries, as well as tourism and office space. Downtown alone is home to 4.2 million square feet of office space. One of the city’s largest employers is the Boeing Corporation, which has a facility in the city that occupies 424 acres at Long Beach Airport. The facility manufactures commercial jetliners and supports other production lines in other cities.

    Oakland

The history of Oakland began in 1869 when it was chosen as the western terminus of the transcontinental railroad. Soon after, it began developing a harbour. After the 1906 earthquake and fire, the city received a large influx of refugees. The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge opened in 1936, and in the 1940s, military and naval installations fueled growth. During World War II, African Americans sought employment in the city’s factories.

    Pomona

Pomona is a large city located in southern California. It is one of the largest in Los Angeles County and has a diverse population. It is primarily Hispanic, but there are also many non-Hispanic White residents, Asian people, and African Americans. The city has an economic base centered on four core sectors: manufacturing, health care, education, and arts and entertainment. Residents of Pomona enjoy many public arts events and cultural institutions.

    Visalia

Visalia is a large city with a population over 100,000 people. It is divided into several neighborhoods. Some of them were once independent cities, but today, they are considered part of Visalia. The neighborhoods in Visalia include Downtown Visalia, North Visalia, the Eastside, the Southwest, the Industrial Area, Mooney, and the Westside.

    Minneapolis-Saint Paul

The metropolitan area is home to several major transit systems, including the Metro Transit system, which operates an extensive bus system throughout the metro. The city also has a light rail system, the Green Line, which connects downtown Saint Paul with downtown Minneapolis. Commuters can also take the Northstar commuter rail, which runs between the Twin Cities and the north suburbs.

    Columbus

Columbus is one of the largest cities in Ohio, and is home to a diverse economy. Its employment base includes sectors like government, education, insurance, and banking. It is also home to a large number of international corporations. Its transportation infrastructure includes main-line railroads, an extensive highway system, and an international airport. Its population of nearly 400,000 people is diverse, with people of European and African descent making up a majority of its population.
